I honestly had no idea what to expect from a book called Kenji’s Sushi and Spirits, but it ended up being a really fun read. It has this strange mix of sushi, humor, supernatural elements, and Japanese culture that sounds like it should be a mess, but somehow it all works together. It does not waste a bunch of time overexplaining everything or trying to convince you how clever it is; it just drops you into the story and lets the world unfold. The artwork gives it a lot of personality, and Volume 1 ends with enough left open that I actually want to see where it goes next. Definitely different from most of what is filling up Amazon right now, and I mean that as a compliment.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys whimsical fantasy and is inspired by nature. Kenji and Rook's story is a unique and mysterious tale that is sure to keep you engaged and intrigued untill the end! I absolutely cannot wait until volume 2! 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
